Google reveals social network to challenge Facebook

New York - Google Tuesday unveiled its new social networking service to take on Facebook.
The Internet search engine introduced Google+ social net for what it called 'real life sharing.



' To be available first by invitation only, Google said its social network will assemble the most basic human needs to connect with others.
Aiming to take gain of flaws in networking on Facebook, Google said, 'Today, the connections between people ever more happen online.

Yet the detail and substance of real world interactions are lost in the rigidness of our online tools. In this basic, individual way, online sharing is awkward.

It would offer options of networking, counting 'Circles' interface for adding friends and distribution 'what matters, with the people who matter most' and 'Hangouts' border for group video chat.



'The presentation of Google+ will test whether Google can beat its past flops in social networking, like Buzz and Orkut, and deal with one of the most pressing challenges facing the company,'' said the New York Times.



'In May, 180 million people visited Google sites, as well as YouTube, versus 157.2 million on Facebook, according to comScore.



But Facebook users looked at 103 billion pages and spent an average of 375 minutes on the site, while Google users viewed 46.3 billion pages and spent 231 minutes.



'Advertisers pay close attention to those numbers, and to the fact that people more and more turn to Facebook and other social sites like Twitter to ask questions they used to ask



Google, like a suggestion for a restaurant or doctor, because they want more personalized answers,'' the New York Times said.

India has placed 4th most dangerous place for women in the world

The high number of female foeticide, infanticide and human trafficking common in India has placed it as the fourth most dangerous place for women in the world, according to a review.

Afghanistan is the most dangerous place for women followed by independent Republic of Congo, Pakistan, India and Somalia in the survey conducted by Thomson Reuters' Trustlaw Women, a hub of legal information and legal maintain for women's rights.



These three countries are in South Asia.



The poll asked 213 experts in the field from five continents to rank countries on their overall opinion of danger as well as by six key categories of risk, health threats, sexual violence, non-sexual violence, harmful practices rooted in culture, tradition and/or religion, lack of access to economic resources and human trafficking.

German hair dresser wins world best beard title at Norway contest

A German hairdresser has won the designate of world's best beard at the World Beard and Moustache Championship in Trondheim, Norway.
Elmar Weisser, 47, beat 160 contestants to the prize with his complicated facial hair carving of a moose. 

It is the third time Mr Weisser has appeared as champion. 

In 2005 he won with with a beard styled into the figure of Berlin's Brandenberg Gate, and in 2007 with a illustration of London's Tower Bridge. 

He said he had begun preparing his manufacture for the Trondheim event at 7am, with the help of his sister. 

"When my beard isn't styled, it goes along to my waist. It is sort of folded up," he said the AFP news agency. 

The World Beard and Moustache Championship have been running every two years since 1995 and its organisers say it is the premier event in the worldwide sport of bearding. 

Organisers say the field has usually been dominated by Europeans but that the US, which has twice hosted the event, is fast becoming "the world's new facial hair super power".

Suspected terror ship seized off Mumbai coast

Mumbai: At 6 pm Sunday evening, intelligence sources brought worrying news: a ship moving arms, missiles and explosives was headed towards Mumbai and would be offloading at the Mumbai coast.

The three agencies in charge for maritime security, the Indian Navy, Coast Guard and marine section of the police reacted instantly. 

The name of the ship was unidentified as was information about its present location. 

According to the intelligence input, defense personnel only had with them the names of two people suspected to be carrying the firearms and missiles. 

The agencies, acting on the inputs shared by the central intellect agencies, swiftly started their search. 

The fear was that the ship could be a major terror risk and a vehicle of terrorist activity. 

A coast guard ship patrolling off the Maharashtra coast was diverted towards Mumbai to help in search for the secrecy ship. 

Over the next few hours, defense workers searched each and every ship anchored off the Mumbai coast. 

Finally, one ship a Denmark flagged vessel MV Danica Sunrise, was situated at around 10pm on Sunday night.

The great rider "Special Greg" Powell, from Annapolis, Maryland, US, performed the hair raising stunt at MTV's Nitro Circus Live travel around in Australia. 

The trick complicated Powell jumping from his bike as it soared over a 32ft gap among ramps and completing a back flip in mid air before landing back on the BMX. 

The 27 year old pulled off the wonderful trick during the event in Gosford last month.

The Hollywood Reporter reports the studio has hired James Vanderbilt to write the script for the forthcoming installment of the web slinger after the studio execs gave a thumb up for his take. 

Vanderbilt has written for "The Amazing Spider-Man" which is at present in production under the direction of Marc Webb.

Junrey Balawing, Soon to be Crowned Smallest Man in the world

Amazing world news : Junrey Balawing is all smiles as he sits next to a plastic jug at his home in Zamboanga del Norte, Philippines on Wednesday (March 9). 

The 17 year old Filipino is promising of being crowned the world’s smallest man in June. 

Junrey Balawing stands at an amazing 22 inches, the existing record holder, Edward “Nino” Hernandez stands at 26.4 inches (67.08 cm). 

Originally hailing from Zamboanga Del Nort, Junrey is ingoing adulthood but is just the same size as a one year old toddler. 

He struggles to walk and he can’t stand for long, but he will be celebrating his 18th Birthday in June, making him the smallest man in the world.

6,000 strong female yoga group sets Guinness World Record

Guinness World Record : A yoga team with 6,000 female members gave an amazing performance yesterday in the Sports Stadium of Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center of Guangdong area.

The Local Women’s Federation, the Provincial support for Women and Children, and LOTUS have jointly held the Pink Spring civic activity under the theme, "I'm sporting, I'm healthy, 

I'm happy."

6,000 female staff and students from Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicines and Guangdong Women's Polytechnic College were stretching their bodies to place a new Guinness World Record. 

A Contribution of 15.5 million Yuan, or 2.4 million dollars was received from personal donations and different enterprises, including Heung Kong Group and Macao Minde Charity Foundation.
