Paris Fashion Week Declares Slim, Youthful Models Out Of Style

Paris-Fashion Week

Karl Lagerfeld adds power to the drift of eccentric models by choosing Inès de la Fressange, 53, for the Chanel catwalk. Spare a reflection for the tall, slim, young and typically beautiful. These are firm times for them, with Paris fashion week declaring them incredibly last season.

Inès de la Fressange, 53, who was Chanel's house model during the 1980s, will revisit to the Chanel catwalk on Tuesday, 21 years after leave-taking ways with the Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld. The casting is momentous since Lagerfeld has waiting now been unapologetic in his partiality for the extremely trim, young models. Last year, Lagerfeld dismissed the size zero dispute as the concern of fat mummies meeting with their bags of crisps in front of the television.

Lagerfeld's choice adds weight to a rising trend towards celebration of a varied vision of beauty at Paris fashion week. Lucy Yeoman’s, the editor of Harpers Bazaar magazine, welcomed the move; saying. When the fashion is really admirable, it looks even better on older models, because they have extra presence. The clothes take on traits, and that is a huge part of what fashion is about.

Dolce and Gabbana

Spiga2 in Milan is the first multi-brand store for Dolce & Gabbana, where they are selling collection by young designers, which have been elite by Domenico and Stefano. They remember how hard it was for little talent at the initiate of their careers, so required to give something back. We wanted to generate a new, special place, unique in the world, they exposed. With this project we give the mounting designers we have elite from all over the world visibility, offering them a real opportunity.

Gabbana Model

Not all of the designers are brand new names; they are basically labels that the Dolce & Gabbana boys liked. Peter Jensen sits next to American brand, MSGN, while Martin Grant, Sophie Theallet and Behnaz Sarafpour are all present. Other Brit labels include Felder and supportive Designs, who are delighted to be involved in the new scheme. It is so stirring to be individually picked by Mr. Dolce and Mr Gabbana. At first we did not actually think it all seemed too good to exist true, and Annalisa Dunn and Dorothee Hagemann from obliging told Grazia Daily. The Arrival of the Gleeks

Gleek-Model

While we are merely bearing into the second season of 'Glee', by now Jane Lynch, who plays Sue Sylvester, the cut-throat cheerleading coach irritating to destroy the glee club, is leaving down in history as one of TV's funniest women.

It comes then as no revelation that on the day Jane Lynch herself and further cast members of the hit illustrate are in attendance at the Monte Carlo TV Festival that the conference room is full to the rafters with open and closet Gleeks. Basking in the sun and their triumph the talented array of actors assertively struts into the room as if their trait song 'Don't Stop Believing’ is swirling around in their heads.

Early on in the interview when asked who is her favorite character in the show, apart from her own of course, Jane Lynch knowingly or not sums up her entire career in once sentence. My favorite is Tina because she reminds me of myself she's kind of in the background, kind of dark and yet when she breaks out she's amazing.

Mirren’s Part Was No Roar

Helen Mirren

Toronto Helen Mirren says she thinks U.S. actors are amazing at expression vigorous films since they approach the job with such dump. British actors, on the other hand, are further aloof, said the Oscar-winner, adding that she was a bit frightened by her role in the new animated 3D film Legend of the Guardians the Owls of Ga’Hoole.

I find it pretty daunting, Mirren said in a phone interview earlier this week. Americans in common are very free actors, you discern, that kind of the way they approach the whole business of acting. I think British actors are more sort of wary and controlled they are just more afraid of being free.

Part of the basis she wanted to tone the character of the iniquity owl Nyra was to be trained that kind of freedom and enjoy it, said Mirren, who formerly took on the Queen character in 1998’s vivacious Prince of Egypt. In fact, though Legend of the Guardians is aimed at by a U.S. filmmaker Zack Snyder and is based on a succession of books by U.S. author Kathryn Lasky, it is Australians who direct the production.

Sounds from Dissident: Shiloh Lindsey

Shiloh Lindsey’s album title says it all. Backed by Mike Flunkert (steel guitar), Scott Paulley (bass), and Kirk Douglas (drums), Western fighting and Brief Sensuality is exclusively what she brings on her next full-length, with a gift for whip-cool bandit country rock and a dark undertow of pain and hurt. There is a lived-in sense to tracks like Tired of Drinking and Café that might scare off the line dancers, but anyone who knows their Lucinda from their Shania will love it.

Amazing-Fame

Michael Buble donated the profits from tonight’s show to you. Where’s the party? Andy, he is the manager, and he is always in fact chill. There is super-splendid, amazing food, and if a dance party ensues we could always move it diagonally the street to Little Mountain and say to torment with the neighbors! And it’s right within tentative distance from where I reside.

An Oral History Of DOWN - DIARY OF A MAD BAND

blue men

As it turns out, the levees bust long before Katrina. In the ’80s and ’90s, New Orleans birthed musical lineage that would trouble the secretive and rule the world. Detuned and devastating, they rise from the swamp and from the amplifier of men who knelt at the altar of The Almighty Riff. Who toiled in their Immix studies and cultured those training as if their lives depended upon them. They colonized and propagated the pedigrees that brought you the dope-pale sludge of Eyehategod, the residue-block destiny of Crowbar, the brash Southern cross of deterioration of compliance and the platinum power-groove of Pantera that would be Jimmy Bower, Kirk Wind stein, Pepper Keenan, Rex Brown and Philip Anselmo, more or less.

For a state of mind be set on all sides by too much indifferent water, too many pills, hardly enough tidy and never enough Black Sabbath. Yeah, it might seem like the only way you could draw a straight line between the developed wasteland of Birmingham, England birthplace of Sabbath to the rotten cultural potage of the Big Easy would be with a pencil and a ruler, but that isn’t inevitably the case. At least not since DOWN have been around, which by all accounts dates back to 1991, when then-Pantera frontman Phil Anselmo and deterioration of orthodoxy front man Pepper Keenan would trade tapes and listen to the doom-ridden prophecy of specialized Sabbath heads like Saint Vitas and Trouble as well as Pentagram. Therein lays the origins of DOWN, the eternal brotherhood into which Bower, Wind stein and Brown were later initiated.

Workers killed in north west Pakistan explosion

Three Western aid workers are among at least 10 people killed in an attack on a convoy heading to a girls' school in north-west Pakistan, officials said.

At least 70 people, including 63 school girls, were injured as the convoy was hit as it passed another girls' school in Lower Dir, near the Afghan border.

The attack comes amid a major government offensive against Taliban militants in the area.

The Taliban has frequently targeted markets, schools and security agencies. The BBC's Mark Dummett in Islamabad says the convoy was heading to the inauguration ceremony of a newly-built girls' school, but that the blast occurred near a different school in Koto, a heavily populated village along the route.

At least three of the dead were school girls, police said, adding that security guards and three local journalists were also among the wounded.

The convoy was on its way to Maidan, an area of Lower Dir district in North West Frontier Province, which is the base of a pro-Taliban cleric Maulana Sufi Mohammad, and a stronghold of Taliban militants.

Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has condemned the attack and ordered an investigation, the AFP news agency reports.

Citing a local police official, AFP said the school had been blown up by militants in January 2009. It was due to be formally re-opened after being rebuilt with the help of foreign aid.

Last year, Pakistani troops carried out a major offensive to crush the Taliban in Lower Dir and the neighbouring districts of Swat and Buner.

Hundreds of people have died and several thousand displaced by the fighting. Thanks to BBC
